Gone is the old faux tile painted on the back splash. Not too hard
to do but a little time consuming (not to mention somebody needs
to make a small trowel for tight spaces).

Had to cut tiles around receptacles and along the bottoms of the
cabinets. Also buy spacers and extra long bolts for your light
switches and receptacles.
Grouting in between the tiles, a big rinse bucket is a must.
Starting to look good.
Finish picture coming soon . . .

Lily, mild mannered cat by day, vicious throat ripping animal
murderess by night.

. . . yes it has, since posting that is - I mean the yard work
is never ending but things are slowing down a little. So here’s
a picture of Lily, our cat who many of you have met, though
probably not at the Labor Day Party because she likes her
visitors a few at a time. She knows we have something good
to eat inside and she wants some . . . :)

Flashback to a time of long hair and the ability to walk all over an
entire city for days on end.

Yes, I scanned a ruler. It was always sitting there in a little cup on
the desk and I don’t think I ever knew it how old it was. I do now,
as can be seen on the back

Found a couple more pics of Buddy. This one from the 2003
Carols, I’m thinkin “Please Daddy Don’t Get Drunk This Christmas.”
This one from the ‘02 Carols and we’re thinking “Two Turtle Doves”
for the 12 Days of Christmas Choir - that’s Buddy on the right.
Close-up from above pic.

In Memory of Buddy McEwen - pictured here between Steve
Edmundson and Jimmy Ogle at the hook of the bar at Kudzu’s.
Last year he was Twelve Drummers Drumming at the Kudzu’s
Christmas Carols- we think maybe we’ll make everybody sing
that part REAL loud so he can hear it way up yonder.
We sure will miss Yodelin’ Bud.

…to 1996, Salem Beer Works, mid-October. OK, this 10 year
Kudzu’s anniversary has gotten me digging through old pics. This
is what happened after I was arrested for singing out of tune…

… the great thing was that I had an ashtray within reach. Anybody
got a cigarette. And could you light that for me…
Finally getting a higher resolution video of You Don’t Believe Me up here.

A friend’s dad had this great 45/EP he couldn’t play so we put it
on CD for him and copied the jacket for the CD case. Design by
the late, great Cordell herself.

Yes, it’s been a busy week. No I didn’t post anything till now. That
said, here’s to the cheesy preacher on the Today Show wedding.
He’s even name dropping Woody Allen - not exactly a marriage
role model. Ha ha, I’m cracking myself up. ***

Taking hundreds of pictures is tiring work especially in near hundred
degree temperatures. What better way to relax than sitting in the
shade listening to other people get hot. This photo of Dan the Man
by Linda Young who also took hundreds of photos at the party.

Wednesday just didn’t happen…well it happened but it didn’t. It
didn’t happen but it did. Maybe it will happen next week. Maybe it
won’t. Thank heavens Thursday is happening… …Pictured above
is a view of the jammers and partyers at the Labor day party/jam.

…since this is the first time this blog has gone ‘public’ could
you let us know if it’s user friendly as far as commenting
or logging in (if there even is any login - all I get is an admin screen
whenever I do anything)???
Also if someone could send me a screen shot of the front page
of the blog - I’ve got admin stuff in my sidebar so I don’t
know what the real sidebar looks like…???

Yes and this is starting to turn into a bit of a photo blog but hey,
we hadn’t put ANY pictures up in about 4 YEARS. Kenny Hays
(left) gits down. You know who (right) chops wood on the boat
paddle. Photo by Dan The Man on Labor Day.

Ok so I’ve been a little delinquent about promoting this lovely set
of noises/songs/compositions but here’s a real canon played on
Susie’s 100 year old piano and close miked electric bass:

Well, it’s only been a little less than a month since labor day so it’s
probably about time these party pics start filtering in here.? This one
taken by Dan The Man is Jacob Sawyer (3yrs. old) who was coherent
long after the rest of us were “jammed” out. I think he’ll be quite
excited about seeing his picture plastered on the internet (unlike the
rest of us who have learned the human trait of photo-embarassment).

This here’s a picture my sister took of Kudzu’s where LeeLee
works whose wedding we are attending today and where me
and Susie work (like as in next Friday’s gig. Kinda captures it
nicely…
