We use mic stands at the gigs all the time to prop a door open.
Can’t explain why it took so long to figure out that at home, there’s
nothing better than a ragged out dysfunctional mic stand for a
door stop . . .
. . . note the functional but duct taped leaf blower to the right,
it’s NOT a door stop . . .
Gone is the old faux tile painted on the back splash. Not too hard
to do but a little time consuming (not to mention somebody needs
to make a small trowel for tight spaces).

Had to cut tiles around receptacles and along the bottoms of the
cabinets. Also buy spacers and extra long bolts for your light
switches and receptacles. 
Grouting in between the tiles, a big rinse bucket is a must.
